Downhill Racer Robert Redford in Kitzbühel – with photographs by Hans Rudolf Uthoff
The film “Downhill Racer”, directed by Michael Ritchie and starring Robert Redford and Gene Hackmann, was shot in Kitzbühel in 1969 against the background of the Hahnenkamm race.
Kitzbühel Museum is dedicating an exhibition to “Downhill Racer”. Using important scenes from the film and the photographs taken during the actual shooting by Hans Rudolf Uthoff the exhibition highlights both the film itself and the people involved in its making and skiing as a sport and its social context in the late 1960s. A backup programme (tours) accompanies the Exhibition.
